CIAN REED INTERVIEW

CIAN REED INTERVIEW

When I think of a home office I think of Ikea tables, a Sam Club office chair, a lamp from Ross and a mat from Target. I shouldn’t be shocked by Cian Reed’s home or his office. I visited Rhet Banner at his home, and it’s opulent. Cian Reed’s home feels palatial. I feel like I should bow before entering each room. I’m joking but you get what I mean.

Cian’s home office is the embodiment of quiet luxury, distinction and prosperity. It’s a unique blend of marble, glass, leather and brass. From the dark velvet, lacquered wooden chairs to the marble and oak table, Cian’s office should be featured in a fancy home magazine. The words “Non Ducor Duco” are engraved in stone about the wall behind his desk. I wonder what it means. I think it’s Latin.

The door creaks open, and in comes Mr. Scully, Cian’s butler, pushing a tray laden with freshly baked cookies and aromatic coffee. He's the spitting image of what I'd imagine a real-life Alfred, Batman's butler, would look like: formal, composed, and with an air of quiet authority. Without uttering a word, he pours me a cup of coffee, offers a brief smile, and then retreats.

Minutes pass and I feel the air is being sucked out of the room. As the door opens, I look back as a black pair of penny loafers emerges.  I turned back around trying my best to fix my skirt, dusting the invisible lint off my pink blouse.

A shadow is casted over me as the person passes, he smells expensive, like the duty-free store in the airport. A large, tanned hand appears in front of me. His nails are trimmed and clean. I reached for hand and look up into his face. My brain whispers “Danger KT. He is dangerous.”

Nervous energy surround me, my palms are sweating and I hardly sweat.

Cian Reed is stunning. Can I call a man stunning? His jawline is strong, his eyes are a deep ocean blue. His skin has a slight tan like he works outdoors. That’s what it is. Cian Reed is rugged. He is a handsome rugged man wrapped in an expensive suit. Now we are ready for the interview.

CIAN: We finally meet.

KT: I know

*Cian tight smile*

KT: So, Mr. Reed.

CIAN: Cian please. We will be working with each other for a couple of months.

KT: Cian let’s start with the basics. Your height, eye color, siblings etc.

CIAN: Height 6’5, blue eyes, three brothers.

KT: Your brothers, what are their names?

CIAN: Hunter, Seth, Brooks.

KT: Age?

CIAN: 40

KT: Occupation?

CIAN: CEO OF BrainX.

KT: Anything else?

*CIAN CHUCKLES*

CIAN: Next question.

KT: What does the words “Non Ducor Duco” mean?

CIAN: I am not led, I lead.

KT: Interesting. Tell me about your childhood.

CIAN: I had one.

KT: Um is that all?

I’m waiting for a response. I’m met with silence.

KT: Okay. No children. Or wife. Do you want to have a wife or children in the future?

CIAN: No.

KT: Tattoos?

CIAN: Yes.

KT: How much?

CIAN: Enough.

*His tone is not mean or forceful but when he speaks it feels like a command. Controlled that’s the word, it feels like he has everything in his control. *

KT: Are you jealous or possessive person?

CIAN: I have never felt any of those emotions? I feel like it’s a waste of my energy and time.

KT: Oh. How do you define love?

*Cian looks down at his desk like the definition is written there. *

CIAN:  Trusting someone, never doubting their words.

KT: Have you ever been in love?

CIAN: Next question.

KT: Have you ever been loved by someone?

CIAN: Next question.

KT: Tell me a secret you haven’t told anyone while in a relationship?

CIAN: I don’t do relationship.

KT: Why?

CIAN: Next question

KT: What do you think about the term Alpha male?

CIAN: If a man has to say he’s an Alpha male most likely he is horse shit.

KT: What should a woman bring to your table?

CIAN: Excuse me, what?

KT: It’s a podcast question. What should a woman bring to your table?

CIAN: Why is she bringing a table?

KT: It’s a saying.

CIAN: I know what it is. I have the table with everything prepared. She just has to come when I call.

*I smirk*

KT: I like you Cian Reed. What drives you?

CIAN: My family.

KT: Vices?

CIAN: What about them?

KT: Do you have any?

CIAN: What man doesn’t have them?

KT: Favorite drink or food?

CIAN: Brandy. I love a good burger, or a steak, medium well.

KT: Batman or Superman

CIAN: Batman

KT: Do you dance?

CIAN: Dance what?

KT: The macarena? Mambo number five? The Dougie?

I met with silence….ok.

KT: Best Friend?

CIAN: Ethan Wulf.

KT: Favorite movie?

CIAN: Scarface.

KT: If you did karaoke –

CIAN: No, just no.

KT: Um haha ok. If you are stranded on a desert island, what three items are you bringing with you?

CIAN: Cell phone, laptop, Glock.

KT: A glock?

CIAN: To shoot coconuts down.

*We both chuckle*

KT: Do you have any guilty pleasures?

CIAN: You’re smart, it’s the vice question in different forms. I revel in my pleasures; I never feel guilty about them.

KT: Are you ready to meet the ladies of KT&Co. on the 29th of September?

CIAN: Yes.

KT: Why did you choose me to write your story?

CIAN: Because I think you will tell it well. I am your first after all.

Two hours later, I sit in the chauffeur car being driven to the airport. Reflecting on the interview, I have to a conclusion about Cian. He is intelligent, charismatic, emotionally complex, loyal and ruthless. Cian is strategic, he is in full control of his environment. It’s the reason he had me come to his home and not a restaurant. He is closed off and annoying. Darn it, Cian will be a challenge to write…. but it’s a challenge that I will gladly accept.

Xoxo

Loved the interview. I recently read your Novella The Family Man and Brooks Reed had a cameo appearance and he mention his brother Cian. What is the title of Cian book or are you in the midst of writing it? Just that little snippet had me intrigued and I knew a book was either in the works or already written.
