Deleted Scenes From Rhet.

Deleted Scenes From Rhet.

Hi Hunny Bunnies

This is the raw unedited, deleted scene from Rhet. Please note that all of my work is copyrighted.

This scene in particular, I didn't want to let go. In fact I cried when I moved it.

However because of my re-writes the scene no longer fit. It didn't have the same effect. I love the new scene but the old scene holds a special place in my heart. Thankfully I saved it.

What is the scene? Oh its Rhet trying to get Zeeta back at the end of the book.

RHET

My chest its still burning from that dumb tattoo. I’m now an official member of the  crew. Yay, me. All this to get Jasper to sing. I have no idea what Cole has cooked up for me in return for borrowing his bar. I could have used Glass House, but Jasper insisted on using Iconic to keep it in the family.
I have no idea what I’m about to say. With light shining in my eyes, I place my hand over my forehead.
“Cole, dim these lights, man.”
In seconds the lights are dimmed. There she is, looking even more beautiful than the day she left. The purple short off the shoulder dress, makes me want to pull it lower.
“You have to say something,” Dax shouts.
I flip him the bird.
“Hi, everyone , I’m Rhet Banner.”
“I fucked up. Big time. The woman I love is in the front row, but I messed up so bad I don’t think there’s any way for me to get back to her.”
The audience goes, “Aww.”
Perfect I have the audience on my side. “I have to try. I will start with I’m sorry. I was wrong. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
Her face looks like it’s stuck on neutral. Okay, let me try harder.
“I saw what you did with my bids. We did the same thing. I now know you were trying to help. I’m sorry.”
She shakes her head, gets up, and walks to the door. I stand there for a second, watching her go. Then I drop the mic and I rush after her.
“Zeeta, wait.”
I grab her hand, but she pulls away. She looks mad. This isn’t the way I planned it out in my head.
“What the hell is wrong with you, Zeeta. I apologized.”
“Keep the apology and stick where the sun don’t shine, so a yeast infection can grow.” She pushes my hand away.
“I said I’m sorry.” I’m grappling at air here.
“Because you realize I had your back?” she rages. Her chest rises and falls rapidly.
“Zeeta, baby.” I try to reach for her again
“Don’t touch me. You never give me a chance to explain,” she says as she points a finger at me a small crowd begins to gather on the other side of the street. Car are honking around us, people walk by watching out exchange.
She walks pass me and sticks her hand out “Taxi.”
“Zeeta if you could just calm down for one second.” I ask. Shit I shouldn’t have said calm down. She looks back at me in rage, her hand still sticking out. She screams out “Taxi”
A brown old Ford Victoria car pulls up in front of her.
She opens the car and slides in. I rush to the passenger side of the front seat and poke my head in.
“How can we fix this?” I ask. The car interior looks like old but clean. The black seats looked polished despite the cracks in them. It smelled spicy like turmeric and incense
“Rhet maybe we can do this next week,” She isn’t even looking at me, her gaze is out the window.
The taxi driver is an old man with a white mustached that parted in the middle and curled at the end. He’s looking at me with a weird expression.
“Sir can you please remove yourself from the window,” he said in an high pitched accent. I ignore him.
“Zeeta I don’t want to do this next week. I wanna to do it now,” I reply
“Sir you have to get out of the window,” The driver says, his eyes are still darting in my direction.
“Rhet let the man leave,” Zeeta turns her face to me, part of it is covered in the taxi’s darkness the other from the yellow street light.
“Sir you need to leave,” he rocks his head slightly and gestures “out” with his hands
“Rhet oh my goodness lets do this next week,” Zeeta shrieks at me. My temple starts to pulse.
“Sir I cannot drive if you are in the window,”
“Rhet you are holding back the taxi,” she slaps the back of the drivers seat.
“Sir I can’t make my money if you stand in my window.”
“Rhet, you are driving me nuts move,”
My jaw tightens, my back teeth crushes against each other.
“I will call the police sir if this continues,”
“I’m so sorry,” she pleads with driver “I will make up for this please don’t call the cops,”
“If he continues, I may have to,-”
With one hand I grips the door tighter digging my blunt nails it to the leather. I pull back stretching my spine, looking down into the canal, watching water trickle down it. They both continue talking as if I’m not there. Their chatter is getting to me.
“Stop. Fucking. Talking” I growl and rock on back and forth on my heel. They both continue to banter.
“Who the hell do you think you’re talking to Rhet,” Zeeta asks
“Cursing not polite. Americans are so rude,”
I’m so done with this shit. I reach around my back and under my turtle neck and pull my gun out.
I look up and raise the gun to the driver “I said. Stop. Fucking. Talking,”
“Oh shite. Sir I’m so so sorry,” his hands are up in the air
“What did I just say,” my heart is racing and I’m breathing heavy.
“Rhet what hell has gotten into you,” Zeeta screams at the back.
Pulling myself from the window, I open the back door, slide in next to Zeeta. I close the door behind me.
I needed some seconds to gather my thoughts. I lean my head back onto the leather seat and close my eyes.
“Mam is he ok?”
“I’m so sorry about this,”
I breathe out, and open my eyes. The driver is looking back at me with his hands still up.
I reaching to my back pocket. Take out my money clip. Pulling out the money I throw it in the front seat.
“That’s about three thousand dollars there. Drive around the block till I tell you to stop,” I say.
“I can’t believe you,” Zeeta mutters as she drags her body closer her door.
“Here is the truth. I’m not a good guy your fucking story. I shot your brother, and killed two others. I’m not a hero Zeeta, I am a villain.”
“Are really trying to win this woman over because this is not the way,” The driver gazes up at me in the rear view mirror.
“What’s your name?” I ask
“Yash,” he replies
“Mind your business Yash,” I reply.
The old man nods watching the cars pass by.
“I’m not the best guy Zeeta, but I can become the best man for you,” I twist my body towards her.
She looks down where my hand held the gun “You shot at me, Rhet.”
“I was wrong and I will never do it again,” I reply, I can feel my sweat running down my back.
I need to make her see that I was all in. She shakes her head and turns away. Wiping her cheeks.
I take her hand and place the gun in it. Hold her hand tight with the gun I press it to my forehead, “Shoot me. If it makes you happy.”
In shock she screams and tries to pull away “No Rhet.”
I slacken my hold and she takes her hand away slowly.
“I can’t exist without you Zeeta. You are in everything around me,” I swallow as I look into her brown sad eyes.
“My house, my dogs, my work without you its like nothing is working.”
She folds her lips and places the gun between us on the leather seat.
“I was wrong. I’m asking you to forgive me. Please,” I plead.
The car becomes silent, neither Zeeta nor I say anything. I can’t lose her.
“My yogi, a very wise man told me,” the driver breaks the silence “Hate is like rotten fruit. You don’t keep that in your pocket do you?”
Zeeta shakes her head “No”
“To rid your body of hate and resentment. You must love and forgive,” the driver looks at both of us in the rear view. The car stops at a red light.
“Let go of the vexation. It breaths pain. Forgive and love.”
Zeeta wipes her eyes “I don’t know if I can.”
My heart hurts from her confession.
“Do you love him?” the driver ask.
Every part of my body stiffens, as wait for her response.
She looks at me breathes out “Yes.”
I want to grab her and kiss her, but part of me knows that if I do the fragile bridge between us would be broken. So I wait.
“Your love will grow if you forgive him,” Yash replies.
“I’m not perfect Zeeta. However I will give you the best version of me,” I state. I feel like Yash and I are tag teaming.
“Perfection is a overrated concept. No man is perfect. However it what you are willing to love and live with.”
I smile at Yash “Listen to Yash Zeeta he is a wise man.”
Yash smiles and shakes his head.
“I’ll do anything you want.”
She smiles “Anything? Ok give up cigars.”
“Done.” I move a little closer to her.
“Church, once every month,” she looks at me with longing
I move closer to her slide my butt slowly on the seat.
“Give up your money for me,” she smiles
I pause and think “Done, but only after I finish the Waterfront.”
“Wow I was joking, but wow.”
I reach out and pull her to my chest.
“I love you and I missed you so much.” I rub my nose against hers. Her hands creep up to my cheeks.
“I’m sorry. I should have trusted you and told you the truth,” tears run down her face.
“I forgive you.”
I kiss her on his mouth, placing my hand in her hair wanting to pull her closer.
“Ah I am so happy with this. Love birds in my car. Blessing on you.”
I continue kissing Zeeta as my spirit begins to feel whole again. I begin to pull as her dress.
“Please don’t mess up my car. My car is not the place for the hanky panky,” Yash cries. Both Zeeta and I pull away laughing.
Looking into her eyes I say “Marry me.”
She smiles brightly “Yes.”
I pull her back in for a hug never wanting to let her go.
“Let’s go back to Iconic.”
“We should go home and make up. Why rush?”
Zeeta laughs
“Um, baby, I love you, but the concert of my dreams is happening inside.”
“You’re choosing Jasper's voice over my cock?”
“No, Jasper's voice makes me love your cock even more.” She smiles widely at me.
“Why are we still out here, baby? Let’s go back inside.”
She nods “Let’s go.”
“Yash have you every been to an engagement party at ICONIC” I ask
“No sir.”
“Well you are now invited to one. Park the car. Let’s go in.”
